Braun Multimag SlideScan 4000b Test report
In December 2006 the company Braun Phototechnik introduced with the Multimag SlideScan 4000b a follow-up model for the Braun Multimag SlideScan 4000 to the market. The new model differs from the predecessor model outwardly only at the back of the device: the Firewire interface was removed. In relation to the predecessor model the scanning speed was improved; the speed advantage is approximately 20%. That's not a gigantic speed increase; but with a magazine of 100 slides however one hour time is gained in comparison to the predecessor model.
The new Braun Multimag SlideScan 4000b has the same construction as the slide scanner Reflecta DigitDia 5000. The two devices originate from the same production and are being distributed under two different brands. While Reflecta has still numerous other film scanner models in the portfolio, Braun limited itself to just this one magazine slide scanner. This fits perfectly into the program of the company Braun Phototechnik, since this company has in the course of the last decades made itself an outstanding name in the field of slide-projectors. System leader regarding development and advancement of this slide scanner is however the company Reflecta.
We already published a detailed test report for the identically constructed Reflecta DigitDia 5000. All substantial characteristics are described accurately and in detail in this test report; since the two devices are identically built, it doesn't make sense to write another test report for Braun's MultiMag SlideScan 4000b.
